The 13th annual Swedish Club car show was a fantastic success.
Thor and the weather gods were threatening with 83% chance of rain. This usually translates to 100% of your floor boards being wet.
It is clear that because of the clean living of all these Volvo nerds we enjoyed dry weather and sunshine the whole day.
This 242 car is beyond nice!
A super nice 740 rolled in late and I don’t know the owner’s name.
Some of that 122 stuff…
The Swedish Club building is totally retro and makes for an excellent backdrop for vintage cars.
The green 122 in the foreground was sporting a 1800 E fuel injected drivetrain.
This 1972 Volvo 1800E looks older because of the red paint.
Peggy’s most excellent 1972 1800ES
Mitch Layton took the award for Best 1956 to 1973 Volvo.
His mint 1967 122S is a stunner. Mitch just rebuilt the motor with powerful internals so the car runs better than ever. Engine compartment is as nice as the rest of the car.
Fun fact: Yours’s truly used to own this car.
Clay Concannon swept the 1974 to 1991 field with his gorgeous 1984 242DL.
Also, Swedish Meat Balls were consumed in massive quantities.
This was an ALL Swedish car event so Saabs was invited and we saw exactly ZERO Saabs! We will make a serious effort to shame…ahum…invite them next year.
A GREAT day!
Special thanks to all that participated but above all, the staff at the Swedish Club for making this day special.
