There was a very strong turnout at X-Ray Auto yesterday afternoon. For 20 years, the owner Matt has been an unlimited reservoir of automotive knowledge for vintage Volvos.
As the patron saint of classic Volvos, we all paid homage yesterday at the church of X-Ray Auto.
The trunk from an aging red 122 Sedan served double duty as an impromptu ice cooler for cans of Rainer Beer.
All kinds of Duetts and other assorted Volvos came out from hiding to attend this event. I think I counted 44 vintage Volvos at one point.
With the entire street blocked off, people were able to wander from one car to another talking with the owners. A white 544 that Matt converted to an electric vehicle a few years back was also on display.
Matt has spent the better part of 20 years building a strong rapport with owners of these Volvos and the impressive showing of support didn’t surprise anyone. Nobody has worked harder than him to help rescue these Swedish cars from the automotive graveyard.
