What is “Fika?”
Fika is a typical Swedish tradition where you take time out of your day to pause and enjoy a hot drink and a snack. Fika is a ritual that’s important in Swedish culture, giving yourself a moment to have a break and socialize. This is what we do on the first Wednesday of each month.
For 2025, this is the schedule:

We meet and discuss our marvelous Swedish machines made by Volvo, all while sipping our favorite hot beverage. Location: Lake Forest Park shopping center. Time: 10:00am – Noon. In the Winter months we meet in doors in the hall next to Third Place Books.

Spring Swap Meet
The very first club event of the year: Sunday April 27th
Ballard May 17th Parade
More fun than you ever expected to have in your Volvo. People crowding the streets cheering you as you pass in this parade. Marching bands, decorated parade floats and drill teams make up the rest of this celebration of Norway’s national day. Come celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day with the largest 17th of May parade outside of Norway, right in the heart of Ballard!
Aero Museum Volvo Car Show
June 14th / Saturday in Port Townsend. Our group cruise was a big success this past year to Port Townsend. For the coming year we are working closely with Aero Museum to sponsor an All-Volvo car show. A $10 entry fee will get you and your significant other into the Museum and a spot in the car show. Open to all owners of out of production Volvos. Participants can arrive and then leave when they wish. We hope to draw cars from Sequim, Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, and surrounding areas. Contact: Phil Brodt 360-344-8052, philbrodt@gmail.com
Klickitat County Road Trip, October 6th
This promises to be an exciting adventure. Plan to join us and put some back road miles on that classic Volvo! Kitickitat county has its share of beautiful country roads. Our destination is Goldendale directly south of Yakima and then further south to the Columbia River gorge. There are plenty of other things to do in in the area like the Maryhill Museum, Stonehenge, the Goldendale Telescope, and The Concours de Maryhill car show held annually at Maryhill on the 4th of October. Open car show. Spectacular venue. Free museum admission for two.

The Swedish Club All Swedish Car Show
This is one of our premier club events, still going strong after 16 straight years. Vintage Saabs and Volvos fill the parking lot at the iconic Swedish Club on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. Stunning views of Lake Union can be had from the third-floor dining room.
Technical Workshops
In past years we’ve explored the marvels of the SU carburetor. Volvo brake boosters were another component we focused on. Date, location and subject matter to be announced.
WAVE – Whidbey Island Cruise
First Saturday of August. Spend all day touring the island with other 1973 or older Volvos.
The Hama Hama Oyster Saloon
On the eastern shores of Hood Canal, some of the best seafood can be found here. The scenic highway hugs the shoreline as it wraps around the canal, Lots of places to stop and take in the views. Date to be decided.
Hansville Car Show
Date not yet announced. Located a ten-minute drive from Kingston.
Edmonds Car Show
Date to be announced but typically the second Sunday in September.
