Paul Dunham is bringing a 1967 Volvo 122S back to life.
Paul bought his first car when he was sixteen, a 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe that had been sinking into the ground for several years. Paul describes it as a “piece of s**t but it offered an excellent education.
He bought his first Volvo in the late 80’s, a 1964 122S wagon. Besides some smoke emanating from under the dash, the car served the family well for several years. As with most car guys, several brands of cars passed through Pauls’s hands including some more Volvos, VW, Pacer and even a Studebaker M5 pickup.
In the fall of 2024, Paul bought this 1967 122S from a friend. It was last registered in 1972! Anyone bringing a “barn find” back to life will attest to the extensive work needed to make it run, drive and stop again.
Paul does all the work himself, including engine work, brakes, hydraulics and more. Volvo nerds will note and appreciate the alternator upgrade.
New brakes, brake master cylinder, clutch master and new lines.
Paul documents his Volvo journey in his blog that can be found here.
Editor’s Note: Thanks Paul, for joining the PSVSA club. Our vintage Volvos are very important but it is the people that makes the club special.
